Symbolism in our jewelry

Symbolism is the practice of giving special meaning to objects. Here you will find a list compiled by my favorites.

Anchor is seen as a symbol of a well-grounded hope. As the anchor was often a seaman’s last resort in stormy weather, it was frequently connected with hope. Being made of a solid body, the anchor was also identified with firmness, solidity, tranquility and faithfulness. The anchor remains firm and steady amidst the stormy waters, symbolizing the stable part of a human being, that quality which enables us to keep a clear mind amid the confusion of sensation, emotion and the general “storms” of life.

Angels are anthropomorphic - meaning in the shape of men - winged forms intended to transmit the word of God to humankind. Angels personify divine will and are the messengers of God. Winged messengers appear in a number of religions as intermediaries between the spiritual and material worlds, but appear most often in Islamic, Jewish but most particularly the Christian faiths.

Bee is a symbol of manifesting things the bee symbolizes: health, vitality and prosperity. Being productive in your work and finding work that is fulfilling. The bee is also good luck for attracting people you have synergies with, so you can achieve your dreams.

Buddha is a very well known symbol of happiness, wealth, kindness and innocent contented joy. It is believed that by rubbing his tummy each day, which is said to contain much wealth, will bring good luck and prosperity to the owner. Treat him with respect and he will reward you handsomely.

Butterflies symbolize profound transformation, resilience, and the joy of life’s journey. They guide us through personal and spiritual growth, teaching the importance of embracing change with grace and adaptability. Butterflies show us how we can go within ourselves to dissolve old forms and morph, rebuilding and evolving ourselves.

Dragons symbolize and encapsulate the legendary power and fearlessness of these mythical beings, inviting you to embrace your inner resilience and wield the spirit of the dragon.

Dragonfly is a symbol of inner resilience and empowerment. The dragonfly, with its ephemeral dance, encourages us to embrace life's challenges with strength and poise, knowing that each obstacle is an opportunity for growth and renewal.

Dolphin’s spiritual meaning implies the need to balance between the emotional and rational, the intuitive and practical. Dolphin symbolizes the aspect of our nature that is pure, unconditional love. Dolphin reminds us to be playful and friendly and to not keep our guard up but to use our skills to be protective of those who need it.

Dorje - Symbolically a dorje represents the 'thunderbolt of enlightenment. Once "enlightened," the observer can detach from the personal importance of money, romance, food and even life itself. Happiness then comes from inside - not outside.

Ganesha is the son of Shiva and Parvati, the God governing the life-force and the earth-mother. This symbolizes the spirit and body of the wise person. Finally, the wise person has the dignity of an elephant.

Hamsa Hand is an ancient Middle Eastern amulet symbolizing the Hand of God. In all faiths it is a protective sign.

The Heart has long been recognized across cultures as being a symbol for love, charity, joy and compassion. Change what's happening inside of you, and your outside experience will change, too. You have to believe in yourself.  People treat you the way you treat yourself, and the way you expect to be treated. You have to believe in potential partners. You have to believe in relationships. 

Lotus is a symbol for awakening to the spiritual reality of life. The Lotus flower is regarded in many different cultures, especially in eastern religions, as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition: even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower.

Mermaids symbolize Love, Beauty, Mystery, Untamed Spirit and Femininity. Mermaids represent wild freedom, rebellious spirits and ferocious independence (they can never be contained and frequently avoid settling).

Octopus symbolizes complexity, diversity, mystery, vision, intelligence, illusion, variability, and insight. The ability to disengage a limb when in danger also has a deeper connotation - to remind ourselves that we can detach ourselves from addictions and bad habits.

Ohm - Known as "The Mother of all Mantras. The four parts symbolize four stages of consciousness: Awake, Sleeping, Dreaming, and a Trance or Transcendental state.

Seahorses are truly unique, and not just because of their unusual equine shape. Unlike most other fish, they are monogamous and mate for life. Rarer still, they are among the only animal species on Earth in which the male bears the unborn young. They are said to bring good luck when you see one.

Semicolon represents the fact that you have complete power over yourself, and can choose to keep fighting, even if you feel like giving up at times. The entire movement aims to bring people together, to empower one another and show that we can all overcome the obstacles we face, no matter the size. You can always rewrite your story, start a new chapter, and recreate your life even if you feel you have nowhere to turn. Your story doesn’t have to end if you simply believe in your ability to create new beginnings.

Snakes symbolize transformation, healing, and rebirth, as they shed their skin and renew themselves. They also represent wisdom, protection, and the duality of life, embodying both creation and destruction.

Stars offer the ability to guide us through the night. They can also refer to our need to discover our own inner light.  Stars exists above us as well as within us. Stars encourage us to trust in something much greater than ourselves.

Starfish Symbolizing equality and rebirth, starfish have a remarkable ability for regeneration. If a starfish is cut in half, two starfish will grow. 

Tree of Life symbolizes many things, including wisdom, protection, strength, bounty, beauty, and redemption. This wise and holy Tree is like the Creator as it sustains creation with its abundant fruit, protection and generativity.

Turtle - In the far east, the turtles shell was a symbol of heaven and the square underside was a symbol of Earth. This meant that the turtle was an animal whose magic united heaven and Earth.

Wings symbolize a desire to let your spirit soar, to rise above a challenge and regain your clarity of thought. Wings conjure feelings of compassion, courage and love.
