Meet the Designer: Szilvia Gogh could be called a Renaissance Women. She travels the world making a living from her two passions: scuba diving and creating one of a kind jewelry inspired by her life experiences.
Szilvia’s life is about creativity, inspiration, travel and survival. She was recently inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame and was the youngest female in the world to become a PADI Course Director (the scuba instructor who teaches Scuba Instructors).
Gogh was born in Budapest, Hungary; she now lives in Los Angeles. In between the two countries, she has travelled to and dove all seven continents.
She works in front of the camera as an adventure show host as well as behind the scenes as a Stunt Women in blockbuster Hollywood movies and TV series. Gogh also teaches Water Safety and trains actors and talent how to breathe underwater.
Szilvia is a photojournalist taking pictures of faces and places above and below the water for numerous international travel, scuba, lifestyle and adventure publications.
She openly shares her personal story as a breast cancer survivor through feature stories and short films.
She started making jewelry in her late teens out of frustration from the lack of silver jewelry for adventure-hungry travelers. Szilvia collects the materials she uses to create her unique jewelry during her world travels. She pairs silver with semi-precious stones, like garnet, turquoise and carnelian with reclaimed wood, seashells and shark teeth.
The Los Angeles-based jewelry line materialized Szilvia’s vision of balance and harmony with herself and the world around her. Inspiration comes from every day life, her love for the ocean and travel.
Actors, Actresses and Fashionistas around the world rock Gogh Jewelry Design pieces. The collection of bracelets, necklaces and earrings are crafted locally using metalsmithing techniques she learned from the prestigious Budapest Art Institute.
Along with teaching scuba lessons, running her websites, and making jewelry, Szilvia fills her days with yoga, rollerblading and playing with her young son.
Shop her pieces at selected Lifestyle Stores, Whole Foods, Yoga Centers and Scuba Shops around the world.
